Abstract
Wildlife managers in South Africa face a unique challenge: balancing the needs of a rising number of elephants with the needs of other species in limited preserved areas. The contraceptive PZP offers a humane solution. Research shows it doesn’t just prevent individual cows from giving birth, it slows the growth rate of an entire elephant population.
