Author Biography

Paul Waldau, ethicist of animal rights and anthrozoology, founded the graduate program in anthrozoology at Canisius College and served as Barker Lecturer in Animal Law at Harvard Law School and legal director of the Great Ape Project, advocating for the rights of great apes. His books include “The Specter of Speciesism” (2001) and “Animal Rights: What Everyone Needs to Know” (2011). Since 2003, Waldau has presided over the Religion and Animals Institute. Website
