Abstract
Research indicates that laying hens do not adapt to battery cages, while a British survey found strong public opposition to factory farming. Galapagos iguanas are recovering after feral dogs were removed. The steroid diethylstilbestrol is found in veal calves in New York, while a formal veal farmer reflects on why he stopped raising veal calves. Pigs housed outdoors had fewer problem behaviors than those housed indoors. Rabbits given extra care and attention did not develop atherosclerosis when fed a high-fat diet.
